ABOUT THE EVENT

TITLE. — MANY PATHS TO POLARIZATION

ABSTRACT. —  Polarization is often treated as a unified phenomenon or concept.  In this talk I draw on modeling work to show how polarization can emerge via many different sorts of causal pathways.  This supports a picture where we should understand polarization as a clustered concept.  This, in turn, has implications for interventions meant to ameliorate polarization.
